Breyer Pokes Holes In U.S. Government Guantanamo Argument

TheStar.com - Top U.S. court hears Guantanamo appeal

Justice Stephen Breyer summed up the government's argument against Hamdan, who faces a single conspiracy count: "You want to try a war crime. You want to say this is a war crimes tribunal," Breyer said. "One, this is not a war, at least not an ordinary war. Two, it's not a war crime because that doesn't fall under international law. And three it's not a war crime tribunal or commission because (there is) no emergency." "If the president can do this, well then he can set up commissions to go to Toledo, and in Toledo pick up an alien and not have any trial at all except before that special commission," Breyer said.

A typical day for my Hotmail account

There were twenty e-mails in my Inbox this morning. Nineteen were spam. Meanwhile the Bulk Mail folder, Hotmail's repository for filtered out spam, held six. That's not a very good percentage for the spam filter. I can't cite numbers for Yahoo and Google but they both do a much better job.

Google Desktop Does Not Follow Moved Files

From Search Engine WatchGoogle Desktop Does Not Follow Moved Files

So if you search on a file that was moved, after installing Google Desktop, the file will not be correctly presented to you. The problem is, Google Desktop indexes all your files when it is first installed, then it indexes any new files added, but it does not update the index for files that are moved from location to location. The only solution I am aware of is to delete Google Desktop and then reinstall it from scratch - this way Google Desktop indexes your files all over again.
