The following is an excerpt of a recorded conversation that prosecutors say involved Richard Scrushy, then CEO of HealthSouth; Bill Owens, then HealthSouth's chief financial officer; and Ken Livesay, then assistant controller. The conversation is included in a new indictment and makes up part of the evidence in a new obstruction of justice charge against Scrushy. The ellipses are as they appear in the indictment.
