Richard Widmark's Wisdom

Richard Widmark dies at 93 - Yahoo! News:

A quiet, inordinately shy man, Widmark often portrayed killers, cops and Western gunslingers. But he said he hated guns.

"I know I've made kind of a half-assed career out of violence, but I abhor violence," he remarked in a 1976 Associated Press interview. "I am an ardent supporter of gun control. It seems incredible to me that we are the only civilized nation that does not put some effective control on guns."

I Don't Think She Needs To Worry

Even if she is a hooker I can see her being portrayed as a sympathetic character. Looks good, doesn't have MBA skills, what's a girl to do in her younger years to make her older years better? Marry a WalMart manager? If she's likable things could work out well. If not then maybe not.Don't think of me as a monster, says Spitzer's call girl - Americas, World - "'This has been a very difficult time,' she says in an interview with The New York Times, the first to track down 'Kristen', the prostitute, who, according to legal filings, had the tryst with Mr Spitzer that ruined his career. Real name, Ashley Alexandria Dupre. 'I just don't want to be thought of as a monster.'"

I Did Eliot Spitzer

>>For Ashley Dupre........
Maybe it's her parents fault for giving her a name straight out of Gone With The Wind.

I Did Eliot Spitzer

She gets money for her story, and maybe some celebrity, but he has to quit. Something doesn't compute.

I don't know why but I loved this sentence

Maybe it's the wine.

Guardian Unlimited: Arts blog - theatre: Noises off: What has Ken done for the West End?:
"'We have a church hall, a cafe, some black-out curtains and a couple of lanterns and we're going to change the world.' With passion like his, I can quite believe it."
