Flickr Zeitgeist

I think this must be new. You can set it to display your own photos or wider groupings. Then it does a moving display. Click on an image to see a larger version. There's a line of html code to paste into your blogger template and that's it. Way cool, I just saw it on the scent of green bananas. It's a food blog first but it's got a lot more than that and if I ever get around to doing a blogroll they're in it.

Ego Surfing

Enough of me thinking about me, let's see what other people think of me.

Forbes.com: Feed Me

From Forbes.com - You'll have to do a free registration to see the article. >>Much hype has swirled around RSS' presumed ability to allow blogs to subvert big media. That's a romantic presumption. The likelier disruption will come in areas such as classifieds, search and e-commerce.<<

SI.com - Ute fans angry at police for electrical shocking

In the futurist movies all the police state types are helmeted and armored, broad through the shoulders and uniformly imposing. But as it turns out some of them wear cowboy hats and have a middle aged stoop. Also, note the beads on the 'troublemaker'. Beads

My favorite personal blog! There are tons of people writing about themselves. Dull, dull dull, dull, dull. Not this guy. A copy of a copy of a copy

I Take Some of it Back

As if to make a liar out of me, even though they know nothing of this blog and wouldn't care if they did, Denmarks called me back about 10 minutes after I made this morning's post. I had tried again and couldn't get through, of course. But then the phone rang. Surprise, surprise. They even seemed to know what was going on. Wow!

Now it's on to Tufts Health care who suddenly want regular reassurance, in the form of a new prescription each time I order supplies*, that I still have the same condition I've had since 1955.
*Mundane supplies, harmless stuff, no drugs, no machinery. In the name of saving money/cuttings costs they want my doctor, the supply company and themselves to do extra paper work. And, I get the added burden of keeping track of all these various parts of the process. Oh good.

Something Dumb

The Anaheim Angels have changed their name to The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. This sounds dumb as hell.

Slackers Dramatically Change Online Holiday Shopping Season

Did you know that if you shop in the last two weeks before Christmas you're a slacker? That's according to Internet Week anyway and their readers I suppose. Shopping in the last two weeks used to be a mark of sensibility or at the worst procrastination. Now apparently it's just plain lazy and irresponsible.

Denmark's Home Medical Equipment Accreditation Survey

Try to order supplies from Denmarks Healthy Steps Sleep Right Program at their 1-866-843-1556 number and you get voice mail and voice mail only. Your call is very important to us but all of our operators are busy etc. etc. Eventually you get an option to leave a message and they will call back within 24 hours. Yeah right, not in my experience. They have never called back. I was able to get through once but I did that by pressing 0 and avoiding the message option. (J says she does it all the time with voice mail and it usually works.) Anyway, the operator/representative took my order and was very nice. She said I should get the supplies by the middle of the next week. Unfortunately, that was in the middle of December and I still haven't seen the supplies. I've tried to call but all I get is voice mail and no call back.

The point of this, other than complaining, is that Denmarks is up for accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of HealthCare Organizations. The JCAHO is conducting a survey Jan. 24 - Jan. 28. They're looking for public comments and if you have something to offer you can follow this link. Denmarks BTW is owned by Air Products Health Care. Find them at the link below. www.airproductshealthcare.com

Crime Fightin' English Language Easifier Mitt Romney

From fafblog on Mitt Romney's work with criminal justice. "The standard "beyond a reasonable doubt" would be replaced with "no doubt,"....." Another state is also working to eliminate the term "preponderance of evidence" and replace it with "most of the evidence". As an aside, The National Association Of Folksy Talking Lawyers were at one point floating the term "If it walks like a duck and it talks like a duck, etc. etc. but they were unable to get the idea off the ground. Anyway, modern jurors just don't understand all this fancy legal patois so the move is on to make things easier.

Consideration was given to insisting that people acquire a basic familiarity with their native language, (read & study, fund public schools, etc.) but that would have meant missing Judge Judy. It was also noted that you don't really need to know a whole heap of five dollar words if you're working at Staples.Fafblog! the whole worlds only source for Fafblog.: "Kill 'em all and let Romney sort 'em out"
